Where I've been this week

London with Heather Green

Heather Green shares pictures here from a train trip to London.

From Uckfield she changed at East Croydon got Thameslink to St Pancras then walked along Euston up to Camden and round to Kings Cross – seven miles. Busy in places but interesting with free British Library.

Sights included Midland Grand Hotel and the frontage of St Pancras Station, lodges outside Euston Station telling you where trains went, the Carreras Black Cat Cigarette factory, Gloucester Crescent and, top of this page, the home of Alan Bennett, where Mary Shepherd parked her van for 15 years

Thanks to Heather for sharing her pictures on the Uckfield News Where I’ve been this week Facebook group.

The Midland Grand Hotel and frontage of St Pancras Station.

The British Library. Free entry. See the Magna Carta, to name one of many historical documents.

A sculpture to commemorate those killed on July 7, 2005, in the London terrorist bombing.

Outside Euston Station and a list of places where the trains went.

The flamboyant Carreras Black Cat Cigarette factory.
