Talk about Grace Kimmins founder of Chailey Heritage

Location: Bridge Cottage, High Street, Uckfield, East Sussex, TN22 1AZ

Date: Thursday, October 4, 2018, 7.00 pm - 8.00 pm

Description:

Sussex author Ros Black presents an illustrated talk about Grace Kimmins, founder of Chailey Heritage School for disabled children.

She will introduce a young Grace working in the slums of London and show how the pioneering craft school was a natural progression of this work.

Grace’s story takes us through two world wars and the introduction of the NHS, showing the impact of one woman’s determination and flair for fund-raising in the field of care for the disabled.

Copies of Ros’s biography of Grace Kimmons will be available after the talk, priced at £10. All proceeds will be donated to Chailey Heritage Foundation.
