Silk Kimono Weekend Workshop
Location: Dot to Dot Studio 9 Village Works East Hoathly East Sussex
Date: Saturday, August 31, 2019, - Sunday, September 1, 2019, 10.00 am - 4.00 pm
Japanese style coverups jackets are everywhere right now, from a luxurious alternative to a dressing gown, to a glamorous cover-up at a wedding, they are endlessly versatile – so why not make your own? Using simple couture techniques such as French seams and hand finishing, this is a great way to get over your fears of handling silk and floppy fabrics. This workshop is not suitable for those who have never used a sewing machine before, but extensive sewing experience is not necessary.
For this whole weekend workshop you’ll need to purchase your own fabrics for this project – we have an exciting collection of plain and printed silks at the workshop for you to choose from, but you’re welcome to bring your own fabrics with you!
We will cover:
Techniques for cutting and handling slippery fabrics
Tips for sewing with silks
Couture finishes and decorative details to make your project something really special
In two days you will create your own beautiful robe
£150 + materials
Next date: Saturday 31st August and Sunday 1st September
