Heather Green says she usually does the marina and into Eastbourne but this time she started at the pier and headed up towards Beachy Head top road.

On the way she had a picnic lunch in Helen Garden and on the way back came down at the beach.

From Uckfield she changed at East Croydon got Thameslink to St Pancras then walked along Euston up to Camden and round to Kings Cross – seven miles. Busy in places but interesting with free British Library.

There’s free entry and parking, along with a little cafe, at Big Parks in Peacehaven which is recommended by Stephanie Coleman.

Stephanie says there’s lots of sand and things to do for all ages – and she’d like to see a similar park in Uckfield!
